About

I believe writing is something everyone can do. If you’ve always wanted to write, but have stopped yourself because you’re not sure if you’re good enough/creative enough/smart enough, I’m here to tell you that you are.

I’m a writer who has tried it all, from completing an MFA program (so great, but so not necessary!), to taking online writing courses (worth it, if you find good ones), to self-studying all the writing books I can find, to workshopping with a writing group on the regular.

I’ve also seen it all in my writing life: long stretches of writer’s block, long stretches of consistent writing, self-doubt, self-confidence, rejection, praise, pages that amount to nothing, pages that amount to seven drafts of a novel, and then another novel, and another.

Your writing life might look a lot like this too, or it might be very different. Whatever the case may be, your words matter and your stories are important.

What you’ll find here is support, inspiration, information, and tools to help you make the most of your writing life, whether you’re just starting out, have been at it for a while, or are looking for a way back in.

A little more about me:

I’ve been a writer my entire life, but I also hold a B.A. in English Literature from Rhode Island College and an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from Lesley University.

I have over a decade of experience writing novels and short stories and helping other writers do the same. Helping other writers find their voice is my favorite thing!

I’ve also spent time as a freelance copywriter, a resumé writer, a writing tutor, a newspaper and website columnist, a manager for an online customer service team and a social media manager for a multi-million dollar company, a writing teacher, and most recently, a mother.

I live in Rhode Island with my husband, our young son, and our dog. My literary agent is Tia Ikemoto with ICM.
