Writers who have a short story or novel (or portion of a novel) ready for feedback.
You can share your work with me at any stage, whether you’ve just finished the draft or have polished it ten times over.
This is for you if you want feedback on a story and also a plan for how to approach revision or a rewrite.
What it includes:
Detailed notes and in-document comments outlining what’s working (hooray!) and what still needs work (don’t worry, revision is actually really fun). My feedback approach shines a light on your writing strengths while also helping you see where your story itself could be stronger.
I’ll use track changes and in-text comments to address everything from character, plot, point of view, voice, pacing, structure, word choice, and more. If you have specific concerns, you can let me know what those are and I’ll focus on those things during my reading as well. I’ll also send you a written critique to flesh out the points I note in your story itself.
You’ll walk away with a clear idea about what’s currently working, what you can make stronger, and where to begin with your next draft. I won’t leave you in the wilderness without a map! My feedback includes ideas for next steps so you’re not paralyzed by revision.
I will also follow up with you via email after a few weeks to see how you’re doing.
Story Feedback clients receive follow-up sessions at a reduced rate when the next draft is ready.
$20/page for short fiction (based on 12-point font, double spaced, one-inch margins)
